Gigs
Hey, How's it going? My name is Darrell
Hansen. I'm sure you know that by now if you have viewed other parts of my
website. Yes , I'm the guy that writes those simple songs from the the heart.
Then I pick up my guitar and commence to play and sing those simple little songs
about life's ups and downs, faith, family, loyalty. Yes, I believe music can be used for good
and for evil. Music can lift you up to a higher moral plane or it can take you
down, down, down! I feel as a musician that I have a responsibility to use my
talent in a responsible way. I believe our heroes ought to be our role models.
That means living a life that people, young and old, (many young people are so
clueless and end up following the wrong examples) can emulate. Your church may want to schedule a concert
for the youth, or for the whole church group. You'll hear none of that so-called
Christian Rock, Metal, or Rap from me. Remember, “ God is holy, and our music
and message should depict that. I will bring my old Taylor guitar, music that is
the most suited for the occasion, which I will determine by seeking God's
leading, and spirited vocals to portray the messages of life from a truly
spiritual perspective. There will be no “canned music” or sound tracks playing
the music. It will be all me. Whether it's singing the hymns, psalms, or
some of my original music, it will all be family friendly and friendly to
society. I have a whole line of songs, meditation
songs right out of the Psalms from the KJB. I'll sing songs like "Will You Come"
that will cause the listeners to consider their relationship with God. I might
sing “The Steps Of A Good Man” taken form Psalm 37:23. Regardless of the situation, these songs
will point upward and you can't get them out of your head. Imagine, the word of
God going through your head over and over again! I would be more than glad to perform for
high schools and grade schools. Again, I would make sure the performance was
suitable for the occasion. In that setting I would sing “Jeannette's Song” and
teach the message of sensitivity to people who are different than us. Children
tend to be rude when confronted with people who suffer with handicaps. This song
causes them to think from a different perspective, i.e. the perspective of the
disabled person. I may sing “Where Are You Mamma” or “I
Don't Want You To Go”. These songs make young people see rebellion and
disrespect against their parents from a sobering perspective. It causes them to
realize that the people they know and love will not always be here. Someday they
will be gone forever. Sometimes being awakened to this realization causes people
to view things differently. I would love to be a blessing so call, e-mail, or write me.
Maybe I'll sing the
title song off of my "Please Don't Kill Me Again" CD.
It could be that I
will sing "Where Are You Mamma" that is about a rebellious teenager.
